Build Your Independent Practice. Don't Build It Alone.

Private practice can be isolating. The paperwork is overwhelming, insurance billing is complicated, and when a clinical crisis happens at 9pm on a Friday, it can feel like you're completely on your own.

LDC was built to change that.

Life Directions Counseling is a collaborative community of independent mental health professionals. Clinicians affiliated with LDC build and maintain their own independent practices while participating in shared infrastructure, clinical standards, and a professional community designed to support ethical, sustainable, and fulfilling work.

Who We Welcome

LDC supports clinicians at multiple stages of professional development:

  • Associate clinicians building toward full licensure while receiving clinical supervision
  • Licensed clinicians seeking a collaborative professional home and billing infrastructure
  • Experienced clinicians interested in supervisory roles — supporting associate clinicians, developing supervisory skills, and expanding their professional practice within an established community and infrastructure

Clinicians may see clients via telehealth, from their own preferred location, or from one of LDC's two East Spokane offices when space is available.

What LDC Membership Includes

Depending on your approved pathway, membership at LDC includes access to some or all of the following:

  • Clinical Supervision and Consultation: Ongoing clinical supervision and consultation — not just a checkbox on the way to licensure, but a genuine and continuing source of professional support. Good consultation is hard to find once you're licensed. At LDC, it's built into the structure, because we believe clinicians do their best work when they have people they can think alongside.
  • Billing Supervision: Dedicated billing supervision to support accuracy, compliance, and confidence in the financial side of your practice — a layer of support most independent clinicians never have access to.
  • Business Coaching and Practice Development: Support for the practical, unglamorous, and often overwhelming work of building a private practice — the business side, the systems, the decisions that don't get covered in graduate school. Your supervisors are invested in your growth as a clinician and as a practice owner.
  • After-Hours Clinical Support: Supervisors and backup supervisors are available for urgent clinical consultation outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends. You've been told your whole career to consult when something difficult comes up. At LDC, you actually can — any time you need to.
  • Insurance Billing Infrastructure: Billing operations through Lamplight Services Northwest, including credentialing support, claims management, and payment processing — supporting your ability to work with insurance payers as part of an established billing structure.
  • EHR and Documentation Systems: SimplePractice for scheduling, telehealth, documentation, intake forms, and billing workflows, along with standardized clinical templates and documentation standards designed to support ethical, organized, and defensible practice.
  • Referral and Marketing Ecosystem: Visibility through LDC's website and clinician profile pages, shared referral pathways, and practice-building support to help you develop your caseload.
  • Continuing Education Access to continuing education opportunities as part of your membership. LDC is an NBCC-approved CE provider — meaning the CE you need is available where you already work.
  • Therapist Growth Pathways: Support for wherever you are and wherever you're headed — associate licensure, outside panel development, clinical leadership, supervision training, specialty development, and beyond.
  • Sensory Lounge Access: Access to LDC's Sensory Lounge — a shared, non-clinical wellness space that most practices simply don't have. Available for your own personal and professional wellness, and for optional use with clients as a self-directed wellness experience. Client use requires informed consent and is not a substitute for therapy or clinical care.
  • Flexible Practice Location: Practice from wherever works best for you — via telehealth, from your own preferred location, or from one of LDC's two East Spokane offices when space is available.
  • Professional Community: Peer consultation, collaboration, and genuine human connection. We host regular group lunches and community gatherings throughout the year — because the relationships you build here matter as much as the systems.

About Our Structure

Clinicians affiliated with Life Directions Counseling are independent professionals, not employees of LDC.

LDC operates on a professional membership model. Fees vary by pathway and are discussed during the inquiry process.
